Taking down a tree in a yard is rarely a matter of cutting at the base. Around houses, garages and power lines, crews usually remove the tree in sections from the top down, using ropes to lower each piece, or bring in a crane for large trees that can't be climbed safely. The method affects the price far more than the height of the tree alone.
When you get a quote, check what it includes. Some prices cover only felling, with the wood and brush left on site. Others include hauling everything away, and stump grinding is often a separate line. Ask whether the crew will need to drive on the lawn, how they'll protect the driveway, and who handles damage if something goes wrong. Any company you hire should show you current liability insurance and, if it has employees, workers' compensation coverage.
